Explore fish farming only after technical, water and market feasibility have been checked. Suitable stocking, feed, oxygen management and environmental permissions are essential. Specialist preparation may be more appropriate than immediate borrowing, particularly for a first production cycle.
How repayment or affordability should be tested
Build cash flow around the actual grow-out period and accepted harvest, with sufficient operating capital until sale.
Critical risks
Water quality, mortality, theft, feed costs, ecological effects and uncertain growth rates make this a specialist project rather than a generic agriculture loan.
