Prepare a household or small-business water improvement with suitable source, storage, treatment and maintenance. Establish whether the water is intended for drinking, production or another use. Check technical advice and affordability before committing to equipment or a loan.
How repayment or affordability should be tested
Households rely on income and verified expenses avoided. Revenue-generating water services need a separate demand, tariff and permission assessment.
Critical risks
Stored or improved-source water is not automatically safe drinking water. Poor installation, contamination and seasonal shortages matter.
What to prepare
Water need/quality assessment; source and site rights; design; quotations; maintenance plan; household or business budget.
What to measure
Verified service reliability, water-quality results where relevant and full operating cost.
