Food enterprise and catering upgrades

Prepare a food business around reliable demand, safe preparation and effective cost control. Include water, power, hygiene, storage and working capital alongside equipment. Build a project that can operate between large orders rather than relying on one event.

Who and what the project needs

Existing food processors, caterers and small hospitality businesses. Suitable cooking/preparation equipment; safe storage; water; hygiene; packaging; input working capital.

How repayment or affordability should be tested

Critical risks

Unsafe food, cancellations, late invoices and volatile ingredient prices can cause both reputational damage and cash shortfalls.

What to prepare

Food-safety and operating requirements; customer history; itemised budget; supplier and event terms; contingency.

What to measure

Accepted sales, spoilage, net margin, complaints and payment collection.
